The last day of school always ends with a famous send off to students.  Please enjoy the Point Staff Farewell Kickline video on Point’s Facebook page from our staff.  Have a wonderful and relaxing summer!

Parents, thank you for your continued support as we work together to educate our kids during these unprecedented times.  I will update you throughout the summer as plans for the 2020-2021 school year are finalized.  As those plans are finalized, Meet the Teacher Night and all back to school details will be shared including the date(s) and times.  Please continue to check your email, Facebook and our website for the latest information throughout the summer.  Stay safe and healthy and email me at spike@msdr9.org anytime throughout the summer if you need anything at all.

Keeping Chromebooks Through Summer:  Students are able to keep their chromebooks at home with them over the summer.  Please Click Here for Summer Suggestions by Grade Level that will support your child’s continued learning at home throughout the summer.  These are suggestions, and we hope everyone has lots of fun playing this summer!

Moving to Another School:  If your family is moving to another school please Click Here and fill out the following Google Form letting us know that you WILL NOT be returning to Point for the 2020-2021 school year.  Please email Amy Mellinger (mellingera@msdr9.org) or Cathy Poole (poolec@msdr9.org) to return your school-issued chromebook prior to moving.

2020-2021 School Supply Lists: School Supply Lists can now be found on our website  Click Here

Back to school updates will also be shared on Point’s website and emailed/texted as they become available and finalized.

Refunds: Refunds will be processed for the following school functions in August, 2020 (if you are in need of your refund sooner than August please email Cathy Poole directly at poolec@msdr9.org.):

BROS, Meramec Cavern Field Trip and Social St. Louis
Student Belongings Pickup:  Student belongings are being packed up by classroom teachers and plans are being developed to have all student belongings picked up sometime in June.  This information will be sent via email/text/Facebook so please stay connected throughout the summer.  Pickup will be a drive up, curbside style pickup, similar to the chromebook distribution earlier this spring.  During this time ALL library books that have been checked out AND 5th Grade book club books should be returned to school.

If the following items are not available for June pickup, we will get these items to you at a later date (some vendor deliveries have been delayed):

Spring Pictures, Yearbooks, StudenTreasures and Art to Remember

Social-Emotional Resources for Parents:  Your child has experienced a lot of change over the last couple of months.  One of the programs we use at Point to support their social-emotional learning is Second Step.  Second Step focuses on four units: Skills for Learning, How to Calm Down, Empathy, and Problem-Solving Skills. The links below are resources to support you as you continue to talk with your child about their feelings during this unprecedented time.

Encouraging children to read is critical to helping them stay on track with other students and retain information and literacy development over the summer break. Below you can print the Summer Reading Bingo sheet and submit it directly to Mrs. Gerwitz by emailing her at cgerwitz@msdr9.org.

Elementary Virtual Summer Sessions are open for enrollment!  You can choose a morning (9am-11am) or afternoon (1pm-3pm) session during the months of June and July.

The summer session will look a little different than what we have currently been doing.

*Your child will log into Google meet at the beginning of their session. They will get a short lesson from their teacher and then head off to work on an activity.

*If at any point they need help, the teacher will still be on the Google meet for them to hop back on and ask questions.

*They will get back on the Google meet at the end of the session to close out the day.

Here is a FAQ video to help you see what we're up to!
