Overview of Club/Plan for the Year

The goal of the Point Garden Club is to establish a network of teachers, students, parents and other community specialists to create an educational and fun environment for all of us to learn.  The Fall Garden Club and Spring Garden Club will consist of students from grades 3-5.  We will take the first 30 students that sign up.  The parents of these students are also invited to experience the gardening fun.  The Fall Garden Club will be responsible for winterizing the school grounds.  The Spring Garden Club will be responsible for manicuring the school grounds.  There will be a new sign up sheet for the Spring Garden Club.

List projects the club will complete

Projects these clubs will complete are planting, weeding, watering, removal of yard waste, raking, painting birdhouses, and anything else needed to make our grounds more inviting.

How does the club benefit Point Elementary School?

The Garden club will benefit Point Elementary in many ways.  It is a way to get families and staff to collaborate and help to keep our grounds beautiful and a nicer place for kids to learn.  It gives our students real life experiences to apply the character skills taught in school.  This Garden Club will also foster environmental stewardship which will enhance students’ self confidence.
